Doug - Chapter 2 - 4 October 2015

Jon,  Here are my thoughts on Chapter 2

Short Summary

He was wanting folks to understand what is the Law of Human Nature or Morale Law or Rule of Decent Behavior is.   He believes that the moral law is not just our instincts but comes from innate feelings to do what is right.  The thing that judges between two instincts is the moral law.

Best Parts of Chapter

I liked his thoughts about saying that the most dangerous thing we can do is just follow one impulse of your own nature and set it up as the thing you must follow at all costs.  This would make us into devils.   We must have balance and use the Moral laws in our life.   I liked his thoughts about moral progress only happens as we change and improve.    Basically he says there are rules of decent behavior that people naturally agree upon.

Questions or concerns about Chapter

Didn't really understand the witch argument?   Chapter didn't really speak that much to me compared to chapter 1 and the forward.
